KPBS Schedule of Fees
(effective 01 Jan. 2009)

Konza Prairie Biological Station is managed by the Division of Biology, Kansas State University. The lands are privately owned by The Nature Conservancy and the KSU Foundation. Operation and maintenance of the station is supported principally by user fees, with additional support from Kansas State University and the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station. Call the Konza Prairie Office (785-587- 0441) for additional information and reservations.

NOTE: All requests for Konza Prairie site use, housing, facilities/equipment or education programs must be made at least 2 weeks in advance. Fees for site use, housing, and equipment should be included in grant proposals for research conducted at Konza Prairie Biological Station.

SITE USE
Research funded by institutional or personal funds:

Research project funded by grant: (based on percentage of total project conducted on the station)

Non-scientific use: (includes all for-profit organizations. Use must be consistent with Konza Prairie research, educational and land stewardship missions and must be approved in writing by the Director.)

EQUIPMENT USE
Laboratory Space

Use of tractor, truck, trailer, water tanks, etc.

Station field staff assistance (equipment operation, individual research plot maintenance, on-site guidance, etc.)

HOUSING ACCOMODATIONS All housing guests have access to on-site Internet connections. Contact KPBS office (785-587- 0441) for further details regarding housing. For monthly rates, contact KPBS office.

  • Hulbert Center:
    Heated and air-conditioned dormitory facility with shared bathroom, kitchen, and telephone; guests are requested to provide their own towels and bedding.

    2-bedroom heated and air-conditioned cottage with living room, bath, kitchen, laundry facilities, and telephone; towels and bedding are available with agreement to launder them prior to departure, or guests may bring their own.

  • Konza Prairie Meeting Hall:
    Cortelyou Lecture Room (1,750 square feet) with a seating capacity of 100 persons. Additional large multi-purpose room (1,850 square feet) designed as flexible space for varied uses.
