KPBS Schedule of Fees
(effective 01 Feb 2013) |
Konza Prairie Biological Station is managed by the Division of Biology, Kansas State University. The
lands are privately owned by The Nature Conservancy and the KSU Foundation. Operation and
maintenance of the station is supported principally by user fees, with additional support from Kansas
State University and the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station. KPBS user fees are crucial for the maintenance of all facilities, infrastructure and services for researchers, including roads, fences, labs, equipment, and long-term study plots, and the operation of all of the burning and grazing treatments.
Call the Konza Prairie Office (785-587-
0441) for additional information and reservations.
NOTE: All requests for Konza Prairie site use, housing, facilities/equipment or education
programs must be made at least 2 weeks in advance. Fees for site use, housing, and equipment should be
included in grant proposals for research conducted at Konza Prairie Biological Station. |
Research funded by institutional or personal funds:
Research project funded by grant: (based on percentage
of total project conducted on the station). Note: the KPBS users’ fee is determined based upon the proportional use of the KPBS field site relative to the overall project’s goals. If the project is based entirely at KPBS, the users’ fee is generally calculated from total direct costs for the project. If KPBS is one of multiple sites being used, the user fees is be based upon the percentage of total research that relies on the KPBS site or treatments. For example, if the grant is comparing two sites, then the user fees would be based on 50% of the direct costs of the grant, (three sites; 33.3 % of the direct costs, etc). For more information contact Director (John M. Briggs 785-532-0140; jbriggs1@ksu.edu).
Non-scientific use: (includes all for-profit organizations.
Use must be consistent with Konza Prairie research, educational
and land stewardship missions and must be approved in writing
